When coming up with the main game mechanic of Breakpoint we decided on a skill-point system which you can change on the fly during gameplay. I decided on having three points which you can allocate between thee different skills: Speed, Jump, Damage. With the player having to juggle between the 3 during game play to defeat enemies, cross caverns and escape obstacles.
